BEAR HUGS
strongly believes in the “Whole Child” approach to learning. Young children
learn by doing. Children need to be actively involved in their daily
learning experiences. BEAR
HUGS offers a year
round learning program.
BEAR HUGS
provides Early Childhood structure in their philosophy. By combining
several research-based curriculums High Scope, Creative Curriculum,
and Beyond Centers and Circle Time, BEAR
HUGS has developed
an age appropriate learning environment.
BEAR HUGS
believes that a strong early childhood foundation combined with a credential
teacher makes for a positive learning experience. The primary focus
of a teacher is to scaffold a young child’s mind. It is also, to provide
them with an environment rich in materials and time to enhance their
play.
BEAR HUGS
teaching staff uses a “hands-on” activity plan to promote structure
and routine in the classroom. The activity plan directs children in
the following areas: Language (Reading/Writing Readiness), Creative
Art/Sensory, Science, Math Readiness, Cooking/Nutrition, Dramatic Play,
Music/Movement, and Gross Motor (Outside play).
BEAR HUGS
promotes a continual range of age appropriate practices for our children.
These practices are the learning tools necessary before entering Kindergarten.
BEAR HUGS
follows the guidelines set in place by the “Brevard School Readiness
Coalition”, which is the Florida Readiness Performance Standards. There
is the goal set forth for Language/Literacy Enrichment in support of
Florida’s “No Child, Left Behind Campaign”.
Plenty of
opportunities are offered throughout each day that encourage the basic
fundamentals of development that are the building blocks of life.
